Core Beliefs

we hold to the traditional, historic

doctrines of the Christian faith.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. (Nicene Creed).

Inclusiveness
We acknowledge that all persons are of sacred worth without regard to race, color, national origin, status, or economic condition, and are welcomed by God into the church of Jesus Christ.

Sin
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are in need of the saving grace brought only through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Biblical Authority

The core of Christian faith is revealed in Scripture as “the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints” (Jude 3). We look to the Bible therefore as our authority and trustworthy guide, which is “useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Illuminated by tradition, reason, and experience, the revelation of Scripture is the church’s primary and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.

Our Christian Beliefs: God

God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons.

Our Christian Beliefs: Jesus

We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of Nazareth; and his life, death and resurrection demonstrate God’s redeeming love.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God’s present activity in our midst. When we sense God’s leading, God’s challenge, or God’s support or comfort, it’s the Holy Spirit at work.

Our Christian Beliefs: Human Beings

Genesis 1:27 asserts that we’ve been made in the image of the Creator. Like God we have the capacity to love and care, to communicate, and to create. Marriage is defined from the beginning of Scripture as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Church

The church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for our faith and practice.

Our Christian Beliefs: God’s Reign

The kingdom or reign of God is both a present reality and future hope.
